The Marietta Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is made up of six members; the Chair and Vice-Chair are elected by the board. The Commissioners are the governing officers of the Authority. Their responsibilities include setting policies governing the operations of the Authority; charting the direction of current and future programs and development; and approving contracts entered into by the Authority.

The MHA Board meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month. The meeting begins at Noon and takes place at the MHA Administrative Office, 95 Cole Street, Marietta Georgia. On occasion, the meeting may be held at another property of the MHA and will be specified on the agenda for the month in which there is a change of location.

Our board members are:

Fran Sutton
Fran Sutton
Chair

Since her appointment in 2007, Ms. Sutton has brought an extraordinary amount of helpful experience to MHA. A lifelong Mariettan, she had 21 years of experience in banking before leaving in 2001 to work in the family business, Old Mill Cabinet Co., LLC, producer of custom cabinetry. She is very active at First United Methodist Church and a number of local charities, notably “10 Women of Hope.”

Appointed by Mayor Steve Tumlin in 2010, Mr. Hunter is a second generation MHA Commissioner who actually occupies the position once held by his father, David Hunter. After serving as Cong. MHA is extremely fortunate to have the talents of Mr. Stevens on our Board. Mr. Stevens is a retired CPA from Price Waterhouse who currently teaches in the Business School at Kennesaw State University. His commitment to KSU extends to service on the KSU Foundation. He devotes a good amount of time helping Authority staff ensure that MHA finances are handled in accordance with good accounting and business standards.

Ken Dollar
Colonel, USAF (Retired)

In addition to 25 years in the U. S. Air Force, Col. Dollar served 12 years as Director of Technical and Support Services at Georgia Tech’s School of Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, he had one of the best jobs in Atlanta: Director of Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 1996 Olympic Games. Col. Dollar served the City with distinction as Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Perhaps his most unusual resume item, however, is that he serves as an NFL instant replay official.
